J&A Associates works with nonprofit organizations in the areas of fund and board development. We have particular expertise working with mental health, social services, and arts organizations.

We have helped multiple charitable and community-based organizations develop and maintain successful partnerships with private foundations and corporate-giving programs. Through strategically designed and implemented foundation solicitation programs, we assist nonprofits in establishing new revenue streams and lessening their dependence on public funding.  During the past twenty years, we have raised millions of dollars for nonprofits in the areas of general operating support, capacity-building, capital and infrastructure, training and development, direct services, and program-specific needs.

Working with an organization's executive team and volunteer leaders, we develop board recruitment and training programs, define board member roles and responsibilities, and help board members become ambassadors, advocates, and fundraisers for their nonprofit. We have extensive experience in organizational and board strategic planning, as well as in board retreat facilitation.
